Different Types and Causes of Obesity

In fact, the problem of obesity is becoming more widespread each year than you can imagine. It is very important to maintain a stable weight to avoid health problems. The first thing to do when you gain extra pounds – is to seek medical help. Only a qualified specialist will help determine the cause of excess weight and prescribe effective treatment.

Six types of obesity

1. Genetic obesity

Have you ever noticed that there is at least one obese person in every family? Researchers have identified two main causes of overweight, namely:

  • the family prefers harmful foods that lead to weight gain,
  • or there are people in the family who are prone to obesity.

However, this does not mean that people who have a genetic predisposition to obesity should give up and gain weight. No one denies that it will be harder for them to achieve ideal parameters, but even for such people, there are many effective ways to lose extra pounds.

First of all, it is necessary to pass a genetic test so that the doctor can use the results of the study to choose the right treatment.

2. Obesity caused by poor nutrition

This type of obesity is one of the most famous and widespread. The reason for its development is a sedentary lifestyle and consuming more calories than the body can burn in a day. Getting rid of this problem is quite simple. All you need to do is review your diet and change your lifestyle to a more active one.

However, people who suffer from this type of obesity are often unable to lose weight over a long period of time. It is impossible to lose weight in one day, you need to change your lifestyle.

Don’t expect one year of regular gym visits and proper nutrition to help you stay lean throughout your life. In fact, to maintain a healthy weight you need to lead a healthy lifestyle constantly.

Of course, over time you will be able to give a little slack and from time to time afford treats, because the rate of metabolism will increase.

In other words, if you want to maintain weight loss and maintain shape, you must not deviate from the goal and follow a strict diet.

3. Obesity caused by poor circulation

This type of obesity is one of the most serious and difficult. It occurs when the body does not regulate the feeling of hunger properly, so a person can not be satisfied, no matter how much he ate. If you have this syndrome, you will always want something to eat, even after you have just eaten a large portion of food.

People prone to this type of obesity can not stop at the dinner table in time. As a result, there is no feeling of satiety after a meal, and a person constantly eats much more than necessary.

4. Obesity on a nervous basis

When we eat, we enjoy this process and the taste of the products. That is why people who are often in a stressful situation or have certain psychological disorders, try to compensate for their discomfort with plenty of food.

Also, very rarely do people in a state of stress think about what foods are good for the body, and what foods are best avoided. When trying to “eat” stress, we often choose foods high in fat and sugar, because they are what bring more pleasure.

If you often experience stress and exceed the daily calorie intake, it is better not to delay and see a doctor immediately. The best in this situation will help a psychologist or psychiatrist because he will be able to determine the cause of stress and help direct energy in another direction.

Treating such patients is quite difficult because it is very difficult for people to give up the only thing that brings incredible pleasure.

5. Obesity caused by disorders of the endocrine system

The most common disorders of the endocrine gland are hypothyroidism and hypercorticism (adrenal insufficiency). In the presence of these syndromes in organisms, the endocrine system does not perform its functions properly, resulting in hormonal imbalance.

In hypothyroidism, the endocrine glands do not produce enough of the hormones needed to digest food. In hypercorticism, on the contrary, these hormones are too much.

6. Thermogenic obesity

In the case of thermogenic obesity, the body does not reach the desired temperature, which is necessary for burning calories. Because of this, almost all food consumed is deposited in the form of fats.

Only a doctor can help in this situation because it is difficult to cure thermogenic obesity on your own. If you drastically reduce the number of calories in the diet and start torturing the body with strict diets, it can only complicate the situation.
